Wim Ricourt, born in Assenede, Belgium, 1963, studied at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium.
Inspired by a chance reflection in water or sun rays that shine through the foliage, Wim Ricourt creates mesmerizing paintings using an aluminium base with mixed media: oil, acrylics and watercolors thus creating a wonderful imaginative effect. The ever-changing reflection created by the use of aluminum reflects the viewer’s emotions and feelings. Changing weather conditions create a different dimension and field of view again and again. Ricourt’s paintings evoke a sense of timelessness and ethereal beauty and make the viewer dream away into other dimensions.
