In the sculptures by Hannes Mussner we find romantic touches from North Italian traditions as well as specific characteristics and key features from the German Art scene.
The main focus of his work is geared towards men and their history, inspired by the diversity of cultures, going back even to primitive societies. The artist establishes evidence of exceptional knowledge in working with all different kinds of wood, which contributes highly to the convincing qualities and outspoken radiance of his sculptures, even though they may appear expressionless.
One finds here the influence of his great master, Stephen Balkenhol. But Mussner definitely innovates and develops his own style, the unrevealed individuals he creates manifest themselves under fascinating dimensions, taking their place in a contemporary world. This way he illustrates a certain stage set, but leaves the viewer free as well in his own interpretation.
