Aron Kroes (1987) primarily immerses himself in the realm of figurative painting, pushing the boundaries of conventional representation.
His use of abstraction stems from an intuitive approach, serving as a genuine expression of emotions, experiences, and technique, without any compromises. This approach invites viewers to interpret the artwork freely, turning each portrait into a reflective mirror of their own perceptions.
Aron’s place within the art world resides at the intersection of the figurative and the abstract. His artistic exploration is focused on challenging the limitations of the figurative form. Furthermore, his intuitive methodology significantly influences his work, as he creates paintings without any external references. This process results in a direct translation and embodiment of his emotions and sentiments at the precise moment of creation. In many ways, Aron’s work can be seen as a conceptual self-portraits.
His paintings often possess a chaotic essence, occasionally revealing unexpected beauty. While they invariably maintain a connection to the foundational elements of portraiture, the incorporation of abstraction takes viewers on a journey through a world of perpetual balance, oscillating between expressive forms and a vibrant color palette.
In addition, Aron’s work is defined by its fascination with light, particularly its reflective qualities. Through the use of metallic and chrome hues, he actively seeks to engage with light and reflection. These distinct and sometimes synthetic spray paint colors draw inspiration from the graffiti and street art scene, a heritage that Aron embraces with enthusiasm and incorporates seamlessly into his current artistic endeavors.
